Governments and industries across the world are mustering up their efforts to develop efficient electric cars. The Chinese government' s policy is to build an infrastructure for new energy cars in earnest while investing more in technology and parts R&D. Under the goal of technological development and commercialization, manufacturers and governments seek to lead innovation in the national car industry by encouraging the development of technology. Unlike in advanced countries, universities and institutes are leading R&D in China. The central and local governments are providing electric car makers with aid money to promote sales while striving to establish infrastructures such as large charging stations. The efforts produced some results, as China' s electric car industry has established the foundations needed for growth.
