Highlights:

I. Personal Wealth Products: A Developing, but Incomplete Market.

  • The personal wealth industry has developed quickly since 2006 with an increase in the number of available products and rising investor sentiment. Financial institutions have spent most of their time advising clients on the potential benefits of investment. However, the risks associated with such products have often times been discounted, hurting the industry's overall growth.

II. Local Partnership Strategies for Foreign Automakers.

  • Partnership with local interests is the only way foreign automakers can enter the automobile manufacturing industry in China . On paper, the partnership requirement is deemed necessary to protect the local automobile industry. In application, the Chinese government is effectively prohibiting full equity control. Foreign firms need to lay a foundation for shared prosperity with local partners instead of repressing new developments.
