Steady increases in both sales revenues and total assets among China 's top 500 private enterprises have nurtured their growth to relatively respectable scales. In 2006, companies boasting sales revenues of over 10 billion yuan and 20 billion yuan numbered 58 and 14, respectively.

Similarly, the number of private companies in China 's Top 500 Companies continues to increase. On the international stage, Lenovo , China 's largest computer manufacturer, was the first private Chinese company to be included among the Fortune 500. In 2007, Lenovo posted US$16.78 billion in sales revenue.
