According to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE), the nation export recorded USD 162.82 billion in 2002, up 8.2% yoy. The nation import also rose in 2002, recording USD 152.02 billion, up 7.7% yoy. Accordingly, the nation trade balance marked a surplus of USD 10.8 billion in 2002, recording a surplus for the fifth consecutive year since 1998.
