As the US and Chinese economies move to recover, Korea's exports grew for the third straight month in May, said the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). According to the ministry, exports increased 3.2% from a year ago to reach US$48.37 billion in May and imports declined 4.8% to US$42.34 billion. Growing exports and sliding imports more than doubled the country's trade surplus from April's US$2.45 billion to US$6.03 billion. May's trade surplus represented a new high since October 2010.
